  • Because the brothers must work during the nighttime hours, coffee is an essential supply in the Golden Shore in order to stay awake and alert.

  • The prawn is then put into bigger containers that will then be taken ashore by Jim and sold in the market that day in Eyemouth.  After returning home to sleep the daylight hours away, Jim and John will return again to Eyemouth that night for another 15-hour shift.

  • Back in Eyemouth the next morning, Jim and John empty the hull of the Golden Shore of the baskets full of prawn.

  • While waiting for the net to fill John captains the boat while Jim uses the downtime to read in his bed.

  • After the net comes in, the catch moves down a conveyer where Jim and John separate it into usable and unusable.  Throughout the night, the time is spent casting out the net and waiting, then separating the catch before starting over again.

  • The Wilsons grew up just outside of Eyemouth, in the town of St. Abbs.  Without very many options growing up, fishing was an obvious choice.  Now, even though the brothers are aging and work is becoming harder, they don?t know anything else?fishing is their life.
